look at the mess that we've made we pick ourselves undone Home again! Well, kind of... It was Fire Nation soil, technically, but the honest fact that the people who farmed and tended most of the land could easily throw said soil at the Fire Nationers who ruled it kept the Fire Nation colonies more-or-less at an uneasy peace, some places more easily kept peaceful than others; Earth Nation people were not easy to forcibly move. Or, well, forcibly made to do much of anything, so Kasumi had quickly discovered in her short amount of traveling. Bunch of hard-headed people, they were... Entirely ignoring the irony of her mental thoughts, Kasumi sighed and paused at the road she was walking down. Settling her bags down next to the fallen tree she'd found to sit on, the traveling bender kicked off her shoes and sighed, massaging them. What she wouldn't give to have fire bending - heating her hands and massaging her feet would have felt wonderful. No matter, the dark haired woman thought to herself with a small smile. She could soak them in the river instead - not quite as good, but it would do. Maybe she could forage for some kind of hopefully edible food, too. The supplies she'd picked up on her way to the colonies had quickly been used up - mostly because of the terrifying night she'd spent in a tree, throwing food at a platypus-bear in the hopes of making it go away. "I hate this Nation.", she groaned, plodding over to the riverbank and sticking her feet in the moving water. She hadn't slept - terror did that to a person, apparently. She'd have to let her father know in her next letter to push corralling platypus-bears in the area. Kasumi idly watched the streaming water swirl around her feet, a frown marring her face. She'd have to figure out how to get some food - and how to get some shelter when she got to a friendly town. |
