Name: Kami An
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Nation: Northern Water tribe
Physical Appearance:
Kami stands at a lean, and stable stature of 5 foot ten inches. His features aren’t exceptionally eye catching, his face is rather plain no defining scars or blemishes. His features soft reflecting the nature of his persona, furthermore his eyes represent his cultural lineage, mirroring the blue so fondly adopted by his people. With shoulder length hair which tend to hang in a rather unique fashion, often messy. While this is odd for those of the water tribes, sometimes not uncommon for those trying to grow and gather length to follow certain cultural norms.
Upon his body, the youth dons a traditionalist sort of garment wearing his nation’s colours. Upon the soles of his feet a thick leather boots with fur based trimmings, upon the boot’s outside Kami has taken to inscribing patterns of various symbols and texts in his spare time. Each having some personal meaning, or significance in his life in the north. Furthermore he has taken to wearing rather warming garments with a darker blue pants variety, and long fur top, though when travelling or in warmer climates the fur jacket becomes a rather thin clothed short sleeved shirt. As Kami tends to like to feel his surroundings. To look at Kami, you find exactly who those around him say he is and that would be a water tribe youth.
Equipment:
Besides his garbs, Kami carries an over the shoulder pouch that holds some trinkets and a scroll which contains some basic forms for him to practice whilst travelling. Among that he also has a small pouch of water, which he uses for drinking and self-defence as such.
Combat Skills:
Kami has had a privileged background, he has been provided with the opportunity to learn and practice water bending from a young age and by those most skilled in forms and utilising those forms. So for most of his life the youth has trained under tutelage of his village masters, not just training but training hard. Beyond training though, he has had a natural affinity to water itself and the spiritual side of life. As such, he is rather skilled in the art of water bending and potentially could be a skilled fighter.
However, something has held him back and such that is the will to fight, his reluctance to use water bending for combat. His persona is soft and kind and he prefers to heal people. This can make him less decisive and reluctant to execute any real combat movements, which often leads to fatal results. It’s not the lack of skill, but rather the lack of will to utilise it.
Talents:
Kami’s talents are few in the eyes of most, but his most enduring talent is his affinity to the world around him and his spirituality. Which reflects in an innate creativity with music and the ability to connect with others both of the nations of the world and other creatures which make themselves at home in the very world.
Flaws:
Kami lacks an air of confidence in his actions and often questions who is and what he can do, this often leads to half-hearted attempts and sometime s a defeatist attitude when attempting to achieve things. Though admiring change, he fears he isn’t strong enough to overcome it and often lacks a sense of completion. Overall it’s a decisive attitude that he lacks and the confidence in himself to achieve his overall goals and really find what he is looking for.
History:
Kami was born in the early beginnings of winter, during the night of a full moon when the strength of the water tribe is at its peak. On this particular night, the cold snapped at those who weren’t safely hidden within the confines of their homes. As the cold hunted its prey and the winds of winter filled the alleys of the northern artic, Kami would come into the world with a noise that sent shivers to those present in the tight little house.
His father and mother proud of their new son, looked on lovingly his father a senior elder and instructor whose son had been eagerly awaited by his fellows and his mother a natural born healer. Both were lucky enough to hold the gift of water bending, naturally they thought the new son would too and due to the unusual circumstances of the night, decided to name him Kami. Its meaning fitting, in more ways than one as they would have no idea the soft and spiritual type of person Kami would become.
After those first moments, life would progress quickly for his family and the boy would grow quickly or so it seemed. Always having an affinity to the world beyond the physical, the youth often spent time alone discovering his home and the northern water tribes surrounding areas. When he wasn’t off exploring he was practicing water bending, learning combat to fight and be a solider. However, he had always wanted to learn the art of healing and help those who injured themselves. But in his tribe, water bending and combat was for men and females were the ones who learnt to heal and his father was one of the senior instructors he was forced even more into this system.
As years passed the youth reached his adolescence, hitting the age of sixteen. He reached his rebellious prime and it came to him during one of his regular moonlit strolls. He could never sleep during a full moon and as such this night was exactly as the previous, yet on this particular night the urge to leave struck him more so then ever before. It was as if the universe called to him, to head out and explore and to understand it as a whole, to fill a void within his very soul, which had come with him and only grown as he had. It was on this night the youth, began the crusade against his parents and after months of argument, they agreed to allow him to leave, on the condition he came back in 4 years’ time to commit to his place among the water tribe. He agreed, as such he left on the first trading vessel towards the earth nation where fate would decide his next move.
Personality:
Kami is unlike most, soft patient and kind. He has a unique connection to the world one where respect for balance and peace reigns above all else. He is one to take his time and understand the reasons and motives behind things rather then rush into things, knowledge and the art of learning as much as can be is important. Upon learning of the sprits and the spirit world, he has begun a personal quest to learn and connect with these individuals so above all his goal is to understand the balance of both worlds and find his place in this world. Kami believes everything is guided by fate and as such, somewhere out there is his destiny to fulfil in this world. But that doesn’t mean not enjoying what the world has to offer along the way. Kami is unique in the way he respects every experience, enjoys learning and is patient understanding what will be will come in its own time.
His skills in water bending aside, thought talented in the art of utilising water. He is reluctant to use it for violence and believes his gift should only be used in the aid of everyone who lives in this world. Even though he is soft, he does believe in justice and the natural order of peace and is slowly learning he may have to overcome this to truly aid those around him. But time shall tell.
