Below are a list of songs that have been taken and made to fit the Avatar universe. They act as common Folk Lore songs with the exception of two that were written by my character. These songs, for the most part, describe old legends and historical figures of importance. If you want you can add to the list by posting below.
Song Name:The Willow Maiden
Nation of Origin: Air Nomads [Based off a legend from the Foggy Swamps]
Story:
The story tells of a man who fell in love with a spirit of an ancient Willow Tree. He chased after her love but was met only with rejection. In his rage, he cut down her willow tree in an attempt to kidnap the spirit. The spirit then died and turned into a beautiful rare flower that only blooms at night.
Moral: A forced love is only poison to the beloved|Some things are not to be taken from nature
Song Name:Day of Destiny
Nation of Origin: Fire Nation [Taken from a Sun Warrior Legend]
Story:
This story originates from one of the several myths concerning the original fire benders, the Sun Warriors. One of the legends is that a dragon burnt by his own flame became enraged. He threatened to burn the entire village. The song follows the point of view of a young woman from the Sun Warrior village who goes out to defeat the Black Dragon with strangers from a foreign land with her two sisters. Her sisters died in the battle with the dragon but were reborn as dragons themselves through their sacrifice for a brief shining moment, spewing their own fire to help their sister become one of the first fire benders and defeat the black dragon.
Moral:Spite only leads to destruction by those untainted Never take the sacrifice of others lightly. Fight on!
Song Name:A Girl’s Song
Nation of Origin: Northern Water Tribe
Story:
The story is about a legend about the childhood friends who were betrothed to each other. However, as they got older, the boy began to distance himself from the girl, focusing on becoming a warrior for her sake. However, through his endeavors he became more involved in dangerous activities and while becoming a village hero, he estranged his fiancé.

Song Name:Daughter of the Moon

The song borrows famous words from the avatar in her old age. These words being that the power of the avatar was borrowed from the world itself. As such, her existence was simply borrowed life or light from the world. The song ends in the death of Avayar Yangchen, an event which according to legend occurred when she saved a pilgrimage of Air Nomads and a Southern Water Tribe village from a tsunami by sacrificing herself in her old age to allow for a new avatar to rise.
