Physical Appearance:
Lee is a tall man with delicate features. He appears unnaturally thin and frail. His face is heart shaped with angled eyebrows over intense olive green eyes. His shoulder length black hair is often worn up in a top knot. On the throne and in public his facial expressions are careful and controlled giving the appearance of a heartless and indifferent ruler, while in private he appears anxious.
He typically wears a gold kimono which is embroidered with gold dragons. He also has a green kimono which is decorated with golden badger moles. His head dress is typical for an Earth King and bears the symbol of the Earth Kingdom. Gold tassels flow from the square cap, partially concealing his face. He wears a gold ring with the Earth Kingdom seal carved out in jade.

He has a Servant Bell. This is used to summon Joo Dee or any of the other palace servants. If he ever needs anything he just has to ring the bell and someone will come help him. This comes in handy if he is hungry or thirsty. He also rings the bell when he is lonely or bored.
He has a Whistle for summoning Dai Li. The whistle itself is made of gold with an elaborate carving of a bear battling a badger mole. It makes a low sound, the vibrations of which the Dai Li agents can sense from great distances. Lee can blow the whistle whenever he feels threatened. His bodyguards will come to protect him.
Combat Skills:
Talents:
He is skilled at performing simple Magic Tricks. He is especially good at the sleight of hand and misdirection. Sleight of hand is the ability to manipulate objects without the audience noticing. Misdirection is the ability to distract the audience from what is really going on. One of his favorite tricks is finding a coin from Joo Dee’s pocket behind her ear.
He also enjoys Juggling. This skill is sometimes referred to as a flourish by magicians. It is a display of dexterity and skill. He can juggle a variety of objects. He is proud to say he can juggle seven apples but he can only handle three lit torches at a time.
He participates in Costume Play. He has a large wardrobe and often dresses and acts like different characters he has invented. He sometimes forces Joo Dee to play with him. He puts on different clothes and accessories to conceal his true identity. Then he practices impressions of people he knows.
He enjoys Bird Watching in his garden. He can identify most types of birds visually. He is also interested in Bird Calling. Some birds will respond to his various calls. He has a specific call that alerts birds to danger, causing them to flee. He also had one that attracts most domesticated birds.
As a God-King he is allowed to participate in divination. Astrology in particular. This is the belief that the objects in space have an effect on the physical world. He spends a lot of time watching the stars. He can identify certain stars and most constellations. He uses this knowledge to predict the future for some of his Dai Li guards.
Flaws:
Lee suffers from intense Paranoia. He believes the Dai Li assassinated his father and are watching his every move. There is no proof that his father died of unnatural causes. Some may consider his level of fear and anxiety irrational. He believes there is a Dai Li conspiracy.
He also has Insomnia. He distrusts his guards and is usually too afraid to fall asleep. When he does sleep he has terrible nightmares which wake him up. Sleep deprivation can cause anxiety and hallucinations. He often appears fatigued. This can also cause memory loss. Lee often forgets whole days. When he asks the Dai Li they tell him he was on vacation at Lake Laugai.
He has Anxiety. He is usually fearful, worried or at least uneasy. This is caused by his constant fear of Assassination. He can often be seen pacing back and forth. He has problems concentrating and noticing details. This may explain why he has not noticed that Joo Dee is a different woman on most days of the week.
Lee has vivid Hallucinations. This may be a symptom of his insomnia or a product of frequent brainwashing. The most common hallucination is a Dai Li bodyguard named Kailì. This bodyguard stays with Lee at all times. He watches over him at night and tests Lee’s food for poison. All of the Joo Dee’s have been advised not to upset Lee by telling him he isn’t real.
Pets:
Name: P'u-lao
Age: 0
Species: Dragon Egg
Appearance- P'u-lao had yet to be hatched. Thus far he is an oval shaped creature with no discernable features. The egg shell feels as hard as rock and has a golden hue. It is impossible to see inside and Lee sometimes wonders if there is anything inside. This appears to be a football sized rock and may in fact be a rock.
Talents- P'u-lao can be rolled up to ten feet. He can also withstand extreme temperatures and accidental drops from up to four feet. P'u-lao is an excellent listener. He often sits still for hours while Lee rambles on about proper juggling techniques. The dragon egg is also excellent at being juggled.
Flaws- P'u-lao the dragon egg is stubborn. He simply refuses to hatch and it is getting embarrassing. The Dai Li guards laugh behind Lee’s back, claiming it will never hatch, and still he refuses to come forth. P'u-lao is lazy and if left to his own devices, will lay perfectly still in one place for days at a time.
Personality- P’u-lao is an excellent companion for the King. Ever since he was given to Lee as a gift from the Fire nation he has been nothing but a joy. He loyally sleeps on a pillow next to the Kings bed every night. P'u-lao is a little lazy and stubborn, but overall he is a good dragon egg or possibly a rock.
Joo Dee is a woman or collection of brainwashed women who act as a caretaker and companion for The Earth King. She is always a beautiful woman in a yellow and black kimono who smiles too widely and speaks almost mechanically. Lee practices a different talent each day of the week and as a result the women acting as Joo Dee must rotate based on their skills. Lee is too preoccupied to notice that it is not just one woman. He only that he likes her better on certain days. If a Joo Dee displeases the King she is taken away by the Dai Li and does not return.
Lee has an Imaginary friend. This is a Dai Li bodyguard named Kailì. This agent is a middle aged man with a greying beard and strong mustache. He is a true friend to Lee and would follow him anywhere. However, Kailì’s main concern is Lee’s safety and he will always advise caution.
History:
Lee grew up in the city of Ba Sing Se. He had a relatively normal childhood for a prince. He was raised in the Palace but he was allowed to attend school with other children from the Upper Ring of the city.
It was during his teens that he began to take an interest in current events. He began attending meetings with his father between the leader of the Dai Li and the generals of the Earth Army. At one of these meetings The Earth King had an outburst. He screamed angrily about some fire nation colonies and insisted it was an act of war. Lee wasn’t sure what his father was talking about. There was no war in Ba Sing Se. A few weeks later Lee’s father succumbed to illness and passed away. Although the doctors insisted his father died of natural causes, Lee believes he was assassinated by his own guards.
After his father’s death Lee ascended the throne. It was tradition for an Earth King to give up all possessions including their own name. Lee is surrounded by luxury, but technically owns nothing. His subjects must refer to him as “Your Majesty”. The Earth King lives in isolation. The Dai Li insist that "His Majesty is an icon, a god to his people" And that he must be kept safely tucked away in the palace. He is aware that he has no real power. He has come to view he palace as a prison and the Dai Li as his own personal wardens. He doesn’t know if the Fire Nation colonies exist or if his father was assassinated. This has led to extreme paranoia and other mental issues. He lives in solitude except for his guards, Joo Dee, and his imaginary friend Kailì.
Personality:
The Earth king is somewhat aloof. He’s paranoid that he will be killed if he speaks his mind so he is very restrained in public. His paranoia has caused his mental health to deteriorate. He doesn’t have any combat skills so he occupies his time with silly hobbies that will secretly help him develop useful skills. He is paranoid but that doesn’t mean that a conspiracy doesn’t exist. He may not be as crazy as he seems.
