NAME. Yasuo Hatake [First Last]
AGE. 38
GENDER. Male
NATION. Fire Nation
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE. Had it not been for the foul powder he's addicted to, his hair would be pitch black like his mother's. Instead now the darkness has faded into a very light grey color, almost white; it reaches the start of his waist and is let loose most of the time. The green eyes he inherited though still remain vibrant and bordered with long eye lashes. His features overall are more gentle than rough, with gentle eyes, a small mouth and light-toned, scarless skin.
He's seven feet tall, with very little muscle, and long and delicate limbs. He chooses to conceal his body with loose robes of black and white colors, avoiding the flashy reds and golds of his nation. His white hair already stand out enough, he doesn't need such deep colors to make him even more obvious.
EQUIPMENT. Though it might actually seem as if he doesn't need to carry anything, or is carrying anything, with him wherever he might go, he always has a small and light dagger hidden away in his sleeve; and even that he has only out of habit, not because he feels like he needs to have something to protect himself.
COMBAT SKILLS. Due to certain events in the past, he never had the chance to train to fight in any sort of way. The fact that he's a non-bender makes the situation even worse. Although, personally, he doesn't really care about things such as fighting anyway, thus his lack of combat skills itself doesn't inflict him any type of distress.
TALENTS. Although bad with all other physical skills, he has a talent in calligraphy. That is, whenever his hands aren't shaking. It was an art he practiced when he was younger, and has developed over the years, regardless of the difficulties that arose. He also seems to have a soothing voice and a potential to become a good singer, but he never took music as a profession, letting his singing be heard only by himself and his close friends when the situation calls for it.
FLAWS. Yasuo is a very good-natured individual when it comes to others, but he is a merciless folk on himself. He has acknowledged the fact that he will never be able to lead a healthy life into elderly years, and forces himself to be as good as he can in the little time he has left to live. What cause this logic, is his addiction to a certain substance called Bai Yunqi. If taken incorrectly, the powder will make one's limbs very weak and trembling occasionally and also take the color away from their hair, making it white. He naively started it out in huge doses, and now has reached a point where he is unable to stop taking it.
HISTORY. The only reason his mother was able to secure a place in the house of a Fire Nation noble was her excessive beauty. She was from a wealthy family herself, but a non-bending family nevertheless. Becoming the wife of a noble firebender was a great honor to her and her family, and being able to bear his son was an even greater one. The first born was a healthy firebender with the wits of a chicken and the will-power of his father; truth be told only the later mattered to the head of the family. It wasn't more than five years later than the wife was with another child.
And that is exactly where Yasuo's problems started. It never was good to be born a second son. Everyone expected you to become a carbon copy of your perfect older brother. It was even more difficult for a child such as him, who happened to be born weak in health. He was unable to start any type of physical training until the age of eight, and even then, another disappointment followed with his apparent lack of bending abilities. He was a disgrace to the family, and yet he could not be forgotten and thrown out, since everyone already knew of the second on in the Hatake family. He was destined to live a life of being looked down upon.
Nothing could be done about it. He accepted the fact; but it wasn't that easy to live with it. As a child, all he needed as comfort was a close friend, and he had him. But as he grew older, the bashing got worse, and a shady offer by a shady man, to feel better in just minutes with only what seemed to be a white powder of sorts, looked very alluring. Next thing he knew, he could not control his lust for the poison. Each dose made him weaker, and yet he would not stop taking it. Over the course of the next few years, he came to realize that he no longer was able to actually stop taking it. He tried it many times, and all resulted in him being even more ill, rather than making his condition better. Now it's just a part of his daily routine; an additional burden to his never-ending list.
Being of no use to his father in the army, and with the noble status in his name, he has no occupation that would bring benefit to the family. The only way to spend his days now is to fool around and dream of travelling.
PERSONALITY. Yasuo chooses to be immature more often than he should. Even though he's a 38 year old man, his attitude matches that of a 20 year old. It's not as if he hasn't moved on from that age. It is something he allows himself to be like solely because he practically still lives the life of a young man. He doesn't work, is unmarried, and spends his time doing nothing most of the time.
When he must, though, he will be serious. His judgment tends to be good in most situations, and having an argument with him might prove to be quite irritating. He is quite stubborn and will almost never budge on a subject he thinks himself sure of. On the other hand, arguments are something he avoids if not of a serious nature.
It isn't rare to find him talking about heavy subjects on occasions. If the conditions are right and the conversation opens up a bit, he will not hesitate to let himself express things he keeps in the deepest parts of his head; the subjects vary from life and death questions, to being curious about a man burning from the inside.
