Name: Zilo
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Nation: Fire Nation: (Is no longer associated with.)
Physical Appearance: Zilo's physical appearance is different then what you see on most Fire Nation members. His hair color dark brown, worn wild and unbrushed. While his face supports small stubble along the jaw and neck. Zilo's abnormal red bandanna, and belt sash are made from a rare dragon toads fibers. The two items, seemed to be scorched and burned from firebending. Zilo spots some dark brown pants with a orange section of ancient writing, meaning a "Dragons Spirit". Most noticeable about the young man is the sandal like shoes in the normal Fire nation colors. They're normal fire nation wear but just cut so he could move his toes freely. Around his shoulders, Zilo wear a cut and burned gi. The gold and white colors are to represent continued life. Upon the tribe, they use these colors for the elders family within the ancient city. On his chest, Zilo has a tattoo engraved into him, to mark the ancient fire bending tribe, that call themselves the "Sun Warriors." On his arms, are two white bandages, hiding the scars from when he was trying to learn fire-bending from his grandfather.
Equipment: In his care, Zilo carries a small ivory flute, that his Master had carried at one point. This strange item is carved almost like that of a small skeleton. As Master Riosh had explained to him before, this flute served as a reminder, of the day he killed a young man in the middle of Ba sing se during an attempt of robbing him. The designs are etched in carefully, with hands and fingers covering some of the holes, as the rest join around a rib cage.
Combat Skills:
Hand-to-Hand Combat:Advanced: Zilo's skills with hand-to-hand combat could be considered a Master to those that have not seen his style of fighting. Though, he is by no means has he become one, before he could finish his training with his Master Riosh, their training had ended, due to him being captured by Ba sing se guards on account for murder. Though through the training with his master, he had learned the basics of preparation and training, He continues everyday, with his Muay Thai practice, as he hopes to eventually master this art referred to as "The Killing Fist."
Physical Strength: Advanced: Thanks to his training with Master Riosh, Zilo physical strength had increased drastically. During his time training, the young man had to endure test of strength and endurance. Some of these said training was carrying around boulders almost the size of a wagon, some of which where larger than that. Another being able to support yourself for forty eight hours above the raging ravine full of sand scorpions and other creatures.
Increased Endurance: Zilo's increased endurance comes from being trained in multiple environments. His first training with his Grand-father made his body more resistant to the fires, in which a firebender could cast. Using his hands to cancel the flames, or by simply kicking them at high speeds to stop the fire. Then his training with Master Riosh, pushed his body beyond it's limits, when your body is pushed past the breaking point, to where you nearly die and brought back, with just a little bit of required sustenance, you are then pushed once more onto the brink of death, to train your body to withstand the training of Muay Thai.
Chi Blocker in training: Along with the Muay Thai training Zilo had been receiving from Master Riosh, he had been taught the fundamentals of Chi-blocking. Though be that he couldn't transfer his own chakra, or chi into a person he still lacked the training to be called a true chi-blocker. Knowing the major points within a benders body, you can temporarily cancel their bending, and paralyze them. But without proper chakra, or chi training, all you where doing was hitting these area's with brute force. The only effect this had, was making the bender sore or annoyed. Hence why Zilo is continuing his studies to control his chi, and is currently looking for a master in touch with their chi control.
Restricted Abilities:
Chi Blocking
Strength of 5 men.
Talents:
Dancing: During his travels, Zilo has bumped into many people from all over the world. Each one bringing a new personality, and a new interest with them. During the times that he'd have the pleasure of being in someone company, they'd show him a dance, or rhythm from their home town. Some even taught the young nomad how to perform various dances. Now whenever Zilo goes somewhere, he'll earn the money needed to stay in a tavern, or for him to purchase food by dancing or playing an instrument.
Music Playing: Master Riosh had been a fan of music. Always carrying around his strange ivory decorated flute, that later became Zilo's after he had seen Master Riosh drop the flute as he was being dragged away winking towards him. The instrument had become a small memory of his master, and upon his travels, into different Nations and areas. Zilo had picked up different Rhythms and quick snippets to play on the small ivory decorated flute.
Flaws:
Exiled: Being Exiled from the sun warriors, has put a heavy mental strain on Zilo. Though he had been raised, trained and accepted there at one point, he had a few members of the other elder tribes, wanting to dispose of him. Not only was it embarrassing for him to be a Non-Bender within the Sun warriors, he couldn't put anyone else in danger because they had figured he needed to be disposed off. The thoughts of his family still linger with him today, sometimes breaking his since of morality, and causing him to become a cold hearten fiend, when dealing with others.
Stubborn: Due to his training in Muay Thai, Zilo's personality has become like a rock. When he is set on doing something, nothing can persuade this man. With this mentality it has lead him into dire situations, some of which he could of been killed. Most of the times, he would find himself locked within a cell for the night, or punished by his Master due to stealing the flute the older gentleman had carried, and the only reason for that was because he was told "He couldn't." Those words, where something this young man never wanted to hear, cause he could do what he wanted, if he set his mind to it.
History:
Personality: Zilo's personality could best be described as a bull. He is stubborn and hot headed. He allows himself to be influenced by others. His biggest problem is putting to much trust within an individual. Something in which he doesn't see as a problem, but it had been known to get him into trouble every now and again. He loves to see people dance, sing, and that play instruments while using all their passion. Zilo has a soft spot for things that are shiny, there is no real reason for this, just that he gets distracted by stuff that is shiny, also he is easily tempted by something that is cute.

History:
Zilo's story begins in the ancient village of the "Sun Warriors". Zilo's mother had ended up gaining a bastard child. During one of her trips into the mountains, she had bumped into a Sun warrior who had been out to gather some food for the other villagers. He introduced himself as Tatoku, the son of Elder Eika. After the fateful encounter, the two would purposely set up meetings to meet one another again. For several years this process had been repeated, as Ira (Zilo's mother.) was the daughter of a Royal Fire Nation guard. During the daily escapes into their fantasy life, the two of them had eloped. Sooner than any of them could predict, Ira had ended up baring a child. After the child had been revealed to her father, an uproar had been caused. The guard could not believe, that after all he has done for the family name, how could she go behind him and have a bastards child.
During this great upset, Ira's father wished to dispose of the kid, but due to her pleas, Ira's father had decided to give her a chance. At the price of never seeing the child again, she would be allowed to let the small infant live, if she would in turn give it to the man that had been responsible for the child. Going to her normal meeting area, which she had not been allowed to for nearly two months, a new face had appeared where the secret hunting ground was. There stood an older gentleman, that seemed to be in his late sixties. His grey hair hung down to his mid back, the tattoos on his face and stomach, where similar to that of Tatoku. When Ira asked the man if he had known someone by Tatoku, he revealed that he was the father of Tatoku. After revealing that he started to leave, Ira shouted at the older gentleman pleading with him. Reaching for a bundle tied on her back she revealed the small infant that would later be known as Zilo.
The older man had earlier introduced himself as the Elder Oro, stated that the father was no longer around, to take in such an infant. The man had perished due to a hunting accident. Though through her pleas, Oro had finally given into Ira, taking the small child in his arms. Though on one condition, she would never be able to see the child again. As the Sun Warriors had hidden themselves for a reason. So that no one could bother them. Agreeing to the terms, as long as her child could survive, Oro gave her atleast one last moment with the infant. To grant it a name that she would be able to give to him. With tears in her eyes, Ira approached the older gentleman and the child. With a small smile she stated. "Zilo." the meaning behind this was for fate. Little did she know, that upon choosing this name, it would be the irony of his life.

Over the next couple of years, Oro had raised Zilo as his own son. Taking on the Elder family name Ota, Zilo had never been aware of his true origins. Nor did he inquire, because he was far to occupied with what was going on around him now. Every day, he was taken out into the mountains with his Grandfather, and every time they had gone the sun had been at its highest point. This was to ensure the connection between fire bending and the power of the sun. Though, during the first four years of his training, Zilo had never once been able to produce a single ounce of bending. Instead this training he was partaking in, was to be able to cancel out the oncoming fire towards him. The reason behind this training, was so that Zilo could pass the Sun Warrior ritual by defeating an older member in a small bending ring. The ring was no more than three feet in diameter. Meaning that one false move would send a contender out.
During his training with Oro, Zilos guard had been down. With the amount of force, and the quantity of fire shot towards the young man, he had not been able to cancel out the blast, instead the boy threw his hands out in defense. The flames leaped upon his skin, burning the boy badly and deeply. The skin had been mangled so bad, that it would never recover normally, and would remain on his body for the rest of his life. Though Zilo was eager to continue his training, his grandfather would have no more part in it. As he regretted putting a mark upon his only grandson... His daughter would not be happy that he had marked her nephew... Oh boy wasn't that true, when they had returned home, with the fresh bandages on the boy, she had let out a small scream. The girl was barely older than Zilo, but she acted as if she had been the boys mother.
Over the course of the next three years, Zilo had continued to practice the training without his grandfather. When the time came for his trial, or initiation into being a Sun Warrior, Zilo had won without a problem. He was able to cancel or dodge, the incoming fire blast, while knocking the opponent out of the ring, with a basic leg sweep followed by a blow to the stomach. A cheer had erupted when the young man accomplished this. Part of the Initiation was the big feast and presents granted to those that had succeeded. His Aunt, had crafted him a long piece of cloth, originally it was suppose to be used as blanket out of Dragon Toad fibers. That didn't last long, as Zilo had cut and fashioned the red silk into what seemed to be a headband of a sorts. And tied the other piece around his waist. This would evidently stay with him as he grew older. As he got older, as these two items never left his side. His Grandfather Oro, had granted him the privilege to wear the Sun Warriors Elder robe. This robe was fashioned in with gold from a tigers mane, and the white had been fashioned out of an elks hide, then dyed with natural ingredients.
As he was sleeping one night, Oro came into Zilo's room stirring him from his sleep. The old man had made him dress urgently and handed him a pack. Telling him to leave the village. Confused Zilo had protested at first, till he saw the sadness in Oro's eyes. He told Zilo he had already lost one son, he didn't need to lose another one. His wish was for him to escape this place, the other villagers wished to get rid of him. The only reason Oro could think of, is when he passes on, the other Sun Warriors sons, would have to marry his daughter, and become the next tribal leader. Even in a place where fire bending was consider a beauty, human treachery still remained.

Three years have passed since the night he had fled the village. Zilo had traveled for some time. His body covered in dirt and tears along his clothes. Looking around a bit he could hear the Sun Warriors shouting behind him. Looking around slightly there was a cliff towards his right. The dark ravine had been home to the dreaded sand scorpions. Legend had it that they where about the size of a normal man. Some of which could become even as large as a flying bison... Looking back up he saw the fire of them warriors shining on the cliff above him. Suddenly one of them shouted, pointing down at the young man. All this time they had been on the hunt for him. His hair had become a bit wilder, he had started to grow a beard on his chin. He had been successful so far in avoiding the warriors that had wanted him dead. But this time, it was a different story, after three years he had gotten careless, he had traveled to close to the village, he longed to see his grandfather.
Suddenly a fire ball flew over Zilos head. Snapped out of his day dream, the youth decided to take a chance. He dove down into the ravine. Fireballs chased after him, lighting the way down with him, parts of the flames caught his bandanna and sash. Suddenly the walls of the ravine became dark, and all he could see above him was clouds, there was no sunlight coming through. And then everything became dark. Several hours must have passed, because it was pitch black when Zilos eyes had opened. He was sore down his entire back, his shoulder felt like it was broken. Coming too had been a very painful experience. That's when he noticed a older male standing next to him, he appeared to be in his thirties. This was the first time Zilo would remember meeting his first master, Master Riosh. The man helped Zilo sit up a bit, long enough to get some water and food down his throat. At this time, Zilo was about sixteen. So it was abnormal to see someone like that falling from the sky. His tan skin was covered in smoot, and looked as if he had been dragged in mud.
During the night, his body ached and shivered. Every time he took a breath, Zilo could remember the pain he felt through his chest. He was certain he had broken several bones in his body. But to his surprise, he could move everything without a problem. When the older Gentlemen came over to check on Zilo, he introduced himself as Riosh, and told the youth not to worry. Over the next two months, it was difficult for Zilo to move around. For some reason Riosh stayed beside this youth, when it finally struck him, that this young one had no bending in him. Most benders would make a fire to keep themselves comfortable, water benders would heal their wounds. Earthbenders generally laid themselves down inside the earth to heal. He has never seen a air bender, but if the boy was one, he could of broken the terrible fall he that he had two months ago. On the third month, Riosh had confronted Zilo about being a bender, what the older gentlemen had found out was that the boy could indeed not bend. Riosh admit that he had known for a month or so now. But had to be sure.
When Zilo could move around again, Master Riosh took the youth along with him. Riosh never asked where he was from, who he was, or even what he was... Only thing he had inquired was about his bending. When Zilo asked Riosh why he had been interested in if the boy could bend, he answered with a simple saying that. He was searching for a student, someone he could teach his ways to, before he was taken into custody. The next few years where going to be hell for Zilo. Riosh had taken him to the lowest point in the ravine, that is where the hellish training began. For two years, Zilo would be stuck down here in this hell hole, busting his fist on rocks, climbing the cliff with his fingers. Fighting for his own food, and defending his food away from Riosh. His body being pushed beyond natural limits. Riosh would sometimes sparingly give him just enough water, and just enough food, to live on.
His body had become smaller during this time, but every day he trained, his body began to become the same size it was. But there was a noticeable difference now, Zilo had began to layer muscle over muscle. He looked like a small guy, but underneath all of that, his body had been rebuilt, and retrained to become like a wall itself. After two years of training, Zilo could tell that Riosh punches where becoming harder, but they didn't feel like anything anymore, he could fight nearly evenly with his master. Or so he thought till Riosh went full power against him. It was just for a few seconds, but during that time, all Zilo could remember was one fist coming towards his stomach, and then he was out cold. Riosh explained to him, that chi blocking was used on his body, on a non bender, it was effective for making them unconscious if you hit the right area. For the next six months, he trained Zilo to look for these points, and how to hit them with his own body.

For the last few months he would have with his Master, Zilo had been traveling with him all over the Nation, that was till they came to Ba sing se, when they had reached the borders of the kingdom, Riosh was apprehended by two earth benders. Looking over at the young youth, the old man had a smile on his face and dropped a flute, that he had with him at all times. Riosh told Zilo that it was his now, and to use it to guide him whenever he felt lost. Zilo was confused as to why, now of all times he had tried to take the flute for himself, had Riosh given it to him. That is when he learned the truth about Muay Thai, the teachings he was being taught, its more renowned name was "The Killing Fist." Riosh had killed a man, that was barely five years younger than himself. He also explained it was time for him to atone for this action, as he had fled from his responsibilities for years.
With his Master imprisoned, and on his own, Zilo started on the path south of the Earth Kingdom... His destination, the nation of Fire... He wished to find out where he belonged...
