Name:Kenzan Feska
Age:25
Gender: Male
Nation: Fire Nation
Physical Appearance: Kenzan is tall. He stands at six feet and has shaggy black hair and golden eyes, as per standard Fire Nation men. He works out regularly, and because of that he has a toned, fit body. Generally, he is considered handsome by members of the opposite sex. His shaggy black hair tends to reach his ears and down his neck, and infront of his eyes a little.
Equipment: Two small daggers, and a mask. The daggers have a 12 inch blade with a 1-inch gap between them to catch enemy swords.
Combat Skills:
Fire Bending – Kenzan always had a natural talent for firebending. He was ahead of his peers, even at a young age. Though, talent does not make a master. He has been training his firebending with instructors ever since he could walk. While he is not a master, he is still a highly skilled fire bender. He is also capable of breathing fire from his mouth. (He’s on par with Late-Series Zuko, obviously without lightning redirection.)
Hand to hand – Kenzan comes from a long line of Fire Nation nobles, and as such was sent to the Royal Fire Nation Academy for Boys. There, he learned several forms of martial arts, including Judo, Karate, and Tai-Chi.
Weapon skills – Kenzan is skilled with various swords, including Dao swords. Though, he is most comftorble with the two small daggers he carries on him at all times. He is so skilled with these daggers that he is even able to combine his fire bending with them.
Restricted Abilities:
Limited Chi Sense
Talents: Interrogation – Kenzan has received training on how to obtain information from someone. In both pleasant and non pleasant ways.
Coersion – Kenzan is very good with words. He has to be for the job that he does.
Blending in – Kenzan is able to blend in to almost any environment, typically by stealing peoples clothes to blend in with crowds.
Parkour – He is capable of scaling ally ways by jumping from wall to wall, and is very good at long and high jumping. He is also good at recovering from falls while running.
Pai-Sho – He’s a pretty decent Pai Sho player.
He’s also a capable Tsungi Horn player. Though he doesn’t like playing it.
Emotion Control – He is normally in very good control of his emotions, keeping cool and calm when needed. Though, even he has his limits.
Stealth – He’s very good at hiding and moving around quietly, especially at night.
Flaws: “Destiny” – Being a fire nation noble, Kenzan has always been raised to believe that he is to be a hero of the Fire Nation. He’s never had his own choice in life, and this bothers him from time to time when people bring it up. It might even cause him to hesitate during fights.
Bottled emotions – By keeping his emotions suppressed and in control, he runs the risk of exploding when under too much stress. These explosions could take many forms. Anger, sadness, yelling, or him simply running away from the area.
Soft spot – He has a soft spot for women and children. This is commonly seen as a weakness among fire nation soldiers. He has so much of a soft spot that he would even go so far as to defend them from other fire benders.
History:
Kenzan's father is a Fire Sage at the Fire Sages temple. Secretly, he is still loyal to the Avatar, as he knows the new Avatar will need firebending training to bring balance. He has kept this a secret by publicly being loyal to Fire Lord Sozin in order to maintain his families wealth and protect his son. His strong lineage with the Fire Sages and nobility is what results in his and Kenzans powerful firebending. The fact that he is a Fire Sage is unknown by Kenzan and his family.
Kenzan was born to the a family of Fire Nation nobles. The men of the family were well known for their firebending abilities and more often than not, joined a branch of the military. Usually, it was the Fire Nation Navy so they could go and fight for the Fire Lord, whom they served without question. This being said, when Kenzan was born, the family was overjoyed to have another promising man in the family to fight in such a time of turmoil and strife among the world.
Kenzan was nurtured since birth to be a warrior of the Fire Nation. Trained in basic Fire Bending by his father, he was sent to the Royal Fire Academy for boys when he turned 8. Since then, he has been training and learning to better serve his country and his people. He gained many Fire Bending abilities and hand-to-hand combat skills as well as Stealth.
Personality: Kenzan is a very to-the-point kind of man. He doesn’t like to lie to people, and he doesn’t like to beat around the bush. He can be kind, cheerful, and full of light and happiness at times, though this is usually saved for when he is not doing a job for the Fire Lord or his CO’s. He’s old enough now to realize that he’s never had another choice in life than the path that was set for him, but so far, his life has been pretty good. He doesn’t like the fact that he’s just following his families wishes, but he believes it is what he must do. His destiny.
Pet: At the moment, he does not have any pets.
Writing Sample: "Aah! Mom! Stop!" Kenzan cried as his mother hugged him, giving her baby boy one last kiss on the cheek before he set out on his first task for the Fire Nation. He was to board a Fire Navy ship and head to the Earth Kingdom on an Recon mission. Not incredibly dangerous one might say, but she was his mother and she always worried. She smiled and let him go, and he smiled back, gave his parents one last hug, and walked out the door.
It was a long way to the ship. It was at the docks, about an hour away on foot. Kenzan always liked the Fire Nation scenery. So much red and green. The mountains that bordered many of the cities... it was beautiful, even though some might call it an acquired taste. He looked around as he walked. So many people, so many smiling faces. So happy, blissfully unaware of what was happening to so many others. Kenzan smiled to himself. It was because of the Fire Nation Military that these people were so happy. And that made him feel good. He'd be protecting and serving his homeland, like he was raised.
He got to the dock. Every step he took seemed to take longer than the last. What was this nagging feeling in the back of his head? He had never felt anything like this before. Sadness? No, no, it was something else. He took another step, and then he did start to feel sad. He felt a tear run down his face. But why? He was confused. Kenzan had never been one for crying.
He stepped onto the boat.
And then he realized, he might not return. And that scared him. Turns out, he gets a bit homesick at times.
