Name: Kuzon
Age: 11 (Birthday in summer)
Gender: Male
Nation: Fire Nation
Physical Appearance:
Kuzon was a somewhat chubby Fire Nation boy with lightly bronzed skin. He stood at an average height for his age at about four foot, seven inches. His hair was oily and black, tied messily into a topknot. His wide childish eyes were a rich castory brown and his brow was thin and refined. Despite Kuzon's baby fat he seemed to have a good deal of muscle on his bones for an eleven year old.
Kuzon typically wore a sleeveless terra cotta red tunic. At the collar of the tunic is a slightly faded golden ornamental button that had all manner of fingerprints and scuff marks on it. Around his waist and over the tunic he wore a vibrant crimson red sash, with the bottom of the tunic coming out from it in a "V" shape. His trousers were a simple khaki brown with several patches concentrated along the knees. On his hands he wore finger-less black gloves that are fastened on with small animal bones.
Equipment: N/A
Combat Skills: Kuzon was a novice fire bender who had to teach himself everything that he knew. Coming from a rural area he hasn't had any formal training in the art. If it were not for natural ability it is likely that Kuzon would not be able to firebend at all. Kuzon can use his firebending to create small embers that can only travel a limited distance.
Talents: Kuzon spent a lot of his time taking care of his families livestock. He was responsible for feeding the komodo chicken and hippocow that his family harvests for food and trade. Kuzon often used his firebending to cook raw meat for himself. He also spent a great deal of his time harvesting feed for the animals at his families ranch. Kuzon had developed a great deal of survival skills living in the rural countryside of the Fire Nation.
Kuzon also spent a great deal of his time exploring the Fire Nation. He learned to navigate using the stars and where most of the major landmarks are. Always exploring, Kuzon had a very sharp perception. He often left home for days at a time to explore new places in the fire nation.
Flaws: Kuzon was raised in the countryside for his entire life and knew very little about the urban population of the Fire Nation. The people of the Fire Nation barely ever used the phrase "Flameyo, hotman!" anymore but many of the people of the rural areas had not adjusted to the changes that time brought to Fire Nation culture. Due to Kuzon's dialect and strange mannerisms he was easily identifiable as a backwards peasant by more contemporary members of the Fire Nation.
History: Kuzon was born in the north western reaches of the Fire Nation on the outskirts of a small coastal village. His father, Kuzo, was a small time rancher who had a tiny farm and a small butcher shop inside of the village. Kuzon's mother has been a very sick woman since before he could remember, overcome with a serious illness that keeps her bed ridden.
Kuzon spent his childhood working hard on his father's ranch raising komodo chickens and hippocows, but the boy had a lust for adventure. On days that his parents had to ride to the capital to get treatments for his mothers disease he would often abandon his chores to go explore the countryside. In one such journey he met a young air bender named Aang. They went on several adventures together, and one time they saved a Dragon egg from a group of poachers.
Soon after turning eleven years old in the summer, Fire Nation soldiers came knocking on his fathers door. The father was given a choice between joining the military himself or to send Kuzon to a training camp until he would come of age. With his hands tied with the care of his wife, Kuzon's father begrudgingly gave up his only son. Kuzon soon found himself at a Fire Nation School for Military Youth.
Personality: Kuzon was a free spirited individual who yearned for adventure. His experiences with Aang led him to belligerently question the teaching of the military school that he was attending. Kuzon was viewed as a trouble maker in the school and was often lashed for his eccentric ways. He was only able to identify with other children his age who were from rural areas.

The military school stood at the eastern edge of the Fire Nation capital. It was a large three story building made from stone with a crimson red roof. Cloistered off from the rest of the world by a large wall that created an ample courtyard, the students marched in unison as they approached the head master for his morning greeting. After bowing to their master all of the children spoke.
"My life I give to my country. With my hands I fight for Fire Lord Sozin and our forefathers before him. With my mind I seek ways to better my country. And with my feet may our March of Civilization continue." They said, Kuzon still stumbling over some of the words. He had thought that he hadn't been noticed but one of the boys in the formation behind him delivered a stealthy kick to his ankle. Kuzon gulped, worried that he would be getting beat up again.
