Aang nodded as they tried to get Spike under control. The chicken was certainly not willing to settle down at all. It took all of the young air bender's strength to avoid letting go of the struggling creature.
"Maybe we just wants attention," Aang said, aware that the chicken was getting a lot of focus now. Grey eyes widened slightly as he saw the fire start in Kuzon's hand. The whole idea of flames to hurt the chicken seemed rather cruel, even if it had helped him less than a minute ago. It gave the boy a sigh of relief when the flame disappeared with a a small blow from the mouth of the young fire bender.
Doing his best to hold down Spike still as Kuzon came towards them again, Aang kept his trusting gaze upon the other child. He knew Kuzon would make sure that everything was OK. And it was not without reason. With an expert dodge (if one could become an expert in komodo chicken dodging - which did sound like it could be a sport), Kuzon had managed to get the deadly beast in a hold that the bird could not escape from. Finally, Aang felt that he could relax and almost immediately the chicken struggled slightly before Aang remembered the duty that he had to restraining Spike completely.
Helping Kuzon carry the chicken back to the pen, Aang remembered that there were still two more of these crazy little things that they had to find. Suddenly his limbs felt more tired at the thought of dealing with those two. He hadn't even seen what damage this one had done. Still, it couldn't be too bad, right?
"Hey, look Spike, your nearly back home with your friends!" The boy told the chicken in a light and friendly tone, hopping that it might ease the chicken's discomfort.
"Should we just let him go?" Aang asked as they were now by the pen and the chicken seemed to be fairly still now, although his eyes were still moving like mad, as if he might suddenly lash out. It was fairly unnerving, not that Aang noticed in all his cheer at spending time with animals.
